Before using the nitrogen transportation system, the operator should make following examinations.

1. Setting of Sensor
The 2006 version software provides a parameter and the operator can select new model of sensor (=I0.8: lung full), and set this option as 1. When the text display is used, the option can be found in the menu of "testing outputs-general". If the touch screen is adopted, the option can be seen in the “configuration” menu and the name is "type measurement lung full".

As for the scrubbers produced after the year of 2005 or in earlier years, its software should be updated or the 24V DC relay should be used if the new type of sensor system is equipped to the scrubber. The relay can be activated by the sensor for buffer bag. One normally closed contact on the relay is connected with input %I0.8 or X2:1-4.

2. Setting of Nitrogen Transportation System referring to Conventional Settings
The operator has three options. The first one is that the nitrogen transmission system has two CA bags, the second one is that the nitrogen is injected via the branch pipeline, and the third one is that the nitrogen transportation system has one CA bag.

3. Checking Valve 2 and 3 of Scrubber
The operator should check if the valve 2 and 3 of the scrubber are independently opened or not. If they are independently opened, the scrubber is equipped with 4 rather than 3 solenoid valves. If the actual case is not as mentioned, then, one solenoid valve must be added or the pneumatic piping must be changed.

Electrical Connections
a. Empty CA Bag and Filled CA Bag Sensor
There are four connection points on the sensor wire. The line 1 and 2 are connected with 24V DC. The line 3 and 4 are linked to the input endpoints, %I0.6 and I0.8, or the terminal X2: 3 and 4. Please refer to the electrical connection diagram.

b. Solenoid Valve
4/2 solenoid valve should be linked to the output terminal Q1.4, Q1.5 and Q1.6. The electrical connection diagram is available for reference. In some cases, the solenoid valve is integrated into the electric cabinet of the scrubber. Under this condition, the fifth valve must be the cold store leak stopping valve, the sixth the oxygen reducing valve and the seventh the CA bag valve. The disc of the 125mm 3/2 valve is generally placed in a fixed position to connect the scrubber to outside gas instead of the air bag when the scrubber does not work.

c. Leak Stopping Pump, Scrubber and Nitrogen Generator
If the CA bag is evacuated, the nitrogen generator will get the signal from the scrubber. A group of two wires between the scrubber and nitrogen generator is linked to X9: 1-2 for scrubber and X2:1-4 for nitrogen generator. The leak stopping pump must be connected to the terminal X9:3-4-5 on the panel of the scrubber.

Electrical Connection
a. CA Bag Evacuating and Filling Sensor
The sensor cable has 4 connection points, the line 1 and 2 connected with the 24DVC, as well as the line 3 and 4 with the input terminal %I0.6 and I0.8, or the terminal X2: 3 and 4. The operator can refer to the electrical connection diagram.

b. Solenoid Valve
The 4/2 solenoid valve should be in connection with the output terminal Q1.4 and Q1.5. Please see the electrical connection diagram. Under certain circumstances, the solenoid valve is integrated into the electric cabinet. In this case, the cold store leak stopping valve serves as the fifth valve and the oxygen reduction valve as the sixth valve.

The disc of the 125mm 3/2 valve, usually at a fixed place, makes the scrubber connected with the outside air instead of the air bag when the scrubber is not in operation. Thus, as illustrated in the N2-TR3 diagram, the air pipe is supposed to be fitted between the marked connectors of 2/2 and 3/2 valves.

c. Nitrogen Generator and Scrubber
The nitrogen generator will be signaled by the scrubber when the CA bag is evacuated. These two machines are linked via a group of 2 two-core wires, with the scrubber linked to the X9: 1-2 and the nitrogen generator to the X2:1-4.

Electrical Connection
a. CA Bag Evacuation and Filling Sensor
The four connection points on the sensor cable can be connected in the following way. The line 1 and 2 are in connection with the 24 V DC while the line 3 and 4 are linked to input terminal %I0.6 and I0.8, or terminal X2: 3 and 4 with the help of the electrical connection diagram.

b. Solenoid Valve
The 4/2 solenoid valve should be connected to the output terminal Q1.4, Q1.5 and Q1.6. The operator can refer to the electrical connection diagram. The signals will be sent to the nitrogen generator from the scrubber when the CA bag is evacuated. A group of two wires between these two machines are linked to X9: 1-2 (scrubber) and X2:1-4 (nitrogen generator). The leak stopping pump must be connected to the terminal X9:3-4-5 within the electric cabinet of the scrubber.

How to Connect Nitrogen Bag Evacuation and Nitrogen Bag Filling Sensor

a. Installation of Nitrogen Bag Evacuation and Filling Sensor
The nitrogen bag pipeline must be installed with two sensors which must be 50cm away from the edge of the CA bag, and must have excellent functions. The two sensors can be put in the same place or with a little distance.

For electrical connection, a gastight entrance should be made between the 3/2 valve and nitrogen bag. Through this entrance, one 4-core wire can be introduced with one of its end connected to two sensors. The installation inlet diameter of the two sensors is 20mm. The metal belt is placed outside of the nitrogen bag. The bottom of the PVC pipeline within the nitrogen bag is made with a line of parallel holes.

b. Nitrogen Bag Filling Sensor
When the nitrogen bag is fully filled, the nitrogen inside makes the bag moves upwards so as to get away from the tube hanging the nitrogen bag. Meanwhile, a signal is given to the PLC.

c. Nitrogen Bag Evacuation Sensor
After being evacuated, the CA bag will adhere to the tube hanging the bag. At the same time, the PLC is supplied with a signal. Attention should be paid to the fact that the sensor is usually placed at the place of 7 clock. Once positioned at 9 clock, the sensor will be excessively sensitive. Therefore, the selection of an appropriate position is of vital importance. The metal belt, placed outside of the nitrogen bag, will cover the sensor at appropriate positions. It will be bonded onto the tube.

b. Solenoid Valve
4/2 solenoid valve is supposed to be installed to the output terminal Q1.4, Q1.5 and Q1.6. The operator can conduct the installation in line with the electrical connection diagram. In the case that the solenoid valve is integrated into the dashboard of the scrubber, the fifth valve is definitely the cold store leak stopping valve, the sixth the oxygen reduction valve and the seventh the CA bag valve.

Since the disc of 125mm 3/2 valve is in most cases placed at a fixed position, the scrubber will be connected with the outside air when not working. In this way, as illustrated in the N2-TR3 diagram, when the 3/2 valve is installed, the pipeline should be linked between line 2. Moreover, at the connection point of the pipeline is a mark.

c. Leak Stopping Pump, Scrubber and Nitrogen Generator
If the CA bag is evacuated, the nitrogen generator will get a signal from the scrubber. A group of 2 wires between the scrubber and nitrogen generator are in connection with X9: 1-2 (scrubber) and X2:1-4 (nitrogen generator). Furthermore, the leak stopping pump has to be connected to the terminal X9:3-4-5 on the panel of the scrubber.
